Canonical Ship ArtWhile at the Baker Street Irregulars meeting in New York in January, 2016, we were given a packet of postcards by the son of the artist. They really took our breath away. Here, brought to life, in full color, were many of the fictional ships of the Sherlock Holmes stories. They are all extremely accurate, and shown in what would have been their natural environment. This had to be shared, so this monograph was created. The color of each painting is accurately reproduced on the right-hand page relating to the ship in question. On the facing page is her history. The monograph is produced in coffee table size, and is sure to be a must-have for the collector.

This is the first in our monograph series. We hope to produce other monographs as subjects of interest occur.

Action in the North AtlanticWhen is a ship a ship and when is it a barque? What is a steam packet? What are the duties of a steward? A captain? What did the Gloria Scott look like? Where is the Ganges River? How large is a saltwater crocodile? The answers to these and hundreds of other nautical questions can be found in The Sherlock Holmes Illustrated Cyclopedia of Nautical Knowledge, by Capt. Walter W. Jaffee, B.S.I., with an introduction by Sherlockian scholar and longtime Baker Street Irregular, Michael H. Kean.

Here, in one comprehensive volume, are definitions and illustrations of all the nautical references found in the Holmes Canon.
